The English term for solar energy is PV (photovoltaic) and BIPV (Building Integrated Pho-tovoltaic) is the English term for building integration of solar cell technology. Gaia Solar is a specialist in BIPV. With more than 300 completed projects, BIPV has been the niche area that we have worked in since 1996.
We see buildings and homes as a platform where thoughtful and aesthetic integration of solar cell technology can supplement or entirely replace a building or home’s electricity consumption that is traditionally produced by using fossil fuels. With real BIPV the building becomes an electricity producer, at the same time as the solar cells replace other building materials, thereby producing a two-fold economic advantage.
